How we measure our DRESSES

 

 Please note,
all measurements
are taken with the
garment laid flat.
A. Bust
We measure across the
bust area from edge-to-edge,
or armpit-to-armpit.
To find the full bust
measurement,
simply double this number
B. Waist
For the waist,
we measure across
the narrowest part
of the dress from
left to right.
This number is then
doubled to give you the
full waist circumference
C. Length
We measure from
the top of the shoulder
(near the neckline)
straight down to
the bottom hem of the dress
D. Sleeve length (if applicable)
For dresses with sleeves,
we measure from the
shoulder seam down the
top edge of the sleeve
to the end of the cuff.

How to Use the Chart

  1. Bust: Measure across the fullest part of your bust.
  2. Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist,
    usually above the belly button.

Note:

  • The bust measurement is the primary determining factor
    when choosing the size of dresses, especially those with
    a fitted or structured top.
  • Important: The measurements in this chart represent
    half of the full garment measurement (e.g., pit-to-pit for
    the bust and side-to-side for the waist). This is typically
    how clothing is measured when laid flat.

Example:

If your bust measurement is 36-37 inches (18-18.5 pit-to-pit measurement) and
your waist measurement is 24-25 inches (12-12.5 side-to-side measurement),
you'd likely fall into a UK12 size (based on the bust measurement).
However, if your waist is much smaller/wider, you may need to choose
a size based on your waist measurement or consider tailoring
for a better fit.
